Whistleblower: Oil watchdog agency 'cult of corruption' Wednesday, October 15, 2008
CNN International -- HONOLULU, Hawaii (CNN) -- Bobby Maxwell kept a close eye on the oil industry for more than 20 years as a government auditor. But he said the federal agency he worked for is now a "cult of corruption" -- a claim backed up by a recent government report. "I believe the management we were under was showing favoritism to the oil industry," Maxwell told CNN. Maxwell is referring to a tiny agency within the Department of the Interior called the Minerals Management Service, which manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources on federal lands.

	How does this not surprise me. Ever wonder why we are economically troubled today? Let me spell it out G-R-E-E-D Its in the corporate arena as well as government. This is why the 10% rule exists 10% population holds 90% of the wealth whereas 90% population only contains the 10% of the wealth. This is the reason why people live pay check to pay check because they dont make enough to pay for things. If course, a large percentage of these same people don't manage money at all....

	With all the money available from record oil company profits, is it any real surprise that Oil is trying to buy off the government watchdogs? And is it a surprise that greedy watchdogs prefer the steaks offered by oil to the regular chow they'd eat if not on the take?

	jppezz Not my boy, actually. I'd have the same thing to say regardless of the party in power. This administrationhas circumvented or bulldozed through due process and left the legislative body in the dust, more than any other in living memory.

	Rampant corruption in political and governmental entities. That seems to be the normative belief. What do you believe? Is there really a closer tie between ACORN (voter fraud) and OBAMA than has been readily acknowledged or than "meets the eye"? What kind of CHANGE do you believe in? 	I am not surprised at all and I am sure it happens elsewhere. The oilbarons are not the saints the apologists paint them as!!!! I only hope that gov`ts find them, pin them down and disclose them, charge them and hit them with meaningful penalties! However white collar crime seldom gets the penalties that are earned!

	No surprise in my book, they just where exposed. That's good. Now what are we going to do. Fine then, but that don't put money back in my pocket that I gave then. They need to sell gas at a loss for a few months or they send out gas vouches for ever veridical for some much gas. That could be used at any station and that would be their fine. This is just the tip of the corruption. Lesson to Obama and you see major cult of corruption. This will also be the tip of corruption again for 4 years.
