The territory would consider piggybacking on any new infrastructure to ship its own oil and gas, he said.

“If somebody comes forward with a proposal to go north, we would assess it like any other project,” McLeod said in an interview at Bloomberg’s offices in Ottawa. “If it goes through, we would be able to export our oil and gas as well.”

The US needs to get off of its butt and approve and build the pipeline... or build the pipeline and seek approvals later....

Get it to market anyway you can. The northwest passage has been talked about for many years now and with modern ice breaking vessels assisting could provide a viable route.

A little more global warming will open the Arctic to limited shipping, but also will melt the humongous ice cap in Greenland and flood properties worldwide that are less than about 20 or 30 feet above current sea levels.
