Shale-Gas Revolution Spurs Wave of New U.S. Steel Plants! Revolution! More Shale-Gas, More Energy, More Jobs, A Better Economy. More horizontal natural gas drilling, more rock and subsurface fracking and much more possible pollution to the underground water resources. Big Oil and Big Gas sells fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices through the Gulf Coast refineries. Big Gas transports natural gas to the refineries, processes it, loads it onto tankers for sale to other countries. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! These resources are Not to be exported without taking care of the domestic market first. As more and more vehicles are converted to natural gas the price of natural gas will go up and up, natural gas will Not have a reasonable price for very long. Keep natural gas for heating homes and businesses. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII! - The Day After......

Don't let unfounded fear and special interests stop the fracking.

Sounds like it is good for a lot of different parts of the economy. Good for us. Unfortunately (like bigsranch says) not all of it originated here in the US.

All the trucks loaded with drilling pipe heading west on I-10 out of Houston are picking up their loads at the Port of Houston. Imported steel.
One of the largest manufacturers is Tubos de Acero de Mexico, S.A. (TAMSA).

Steel Makers are building over here because labor and fuel is much less here than in Europe.
It is that simple.
We can do just as good a job at a fraction of the price of Europe.

If steel production re-blossoms in America... that would be a good thing for jobs and the economy.
