Pipeline demands to increase in coming decade

dailybreeze -- The oilsands industry is going to be demanding more pipelines across Western Canada in the next decade, even if three proposed projects get built, the head of Kinder Morgan Canada predicts.

Kinder Morgan president Ian Anderson told the Vancouver Board of Trade on Thursday that the North American market for Canadian oilsands crude is drying up as U.S. production rises, and producers in Alberta will soon be looking to move their product across B.C. and out of ports on the West Coast.

"Where's the market? You look to the bottom right — it's China. They're going to double their imports of crude oil over the next 10 years," Anderson told the business luncheon.

The three major projects already proposed include the Kinder Morgan proposal to triple the capacity of its Trans Mountain Pipel

We solved ours by turning to the railroads that can go anywhere and don't need special permission, or taking away lands from farmers. I read that the cost by rail is about the same as by pipeline and it puts people to work and creates jobs now. Canada would do well to send its oil east and west by rail. The article is correct, we in the USA don't need the tar sand oil as we have our own clean oil. It didn't save us a penny at the pump anyway!

We also do not know what tar sand production is going to do in the future to water and other natural resources, only time will tell.

Eastern Canada seems to be already planning this approach, taking advantage of the "sputtering" States and Western Provinces.

They should . but don't hold your breath becasue we have greedy oil compaies who are getting tax breaks from the American consumers and then they screw us by charging us higher prices for those gallons of product. All the products are made by cheap and sweatshop labor and then then the companies jack up the prices once inside the states and the consumer gets fleeced with the high prices.
