we'll see how the global economy goes... may not have anything to put oil into by the time demand is supposed to increase.

Now that they have the oil, they need to send it to the consumers...pipelines are the most efficient way.

Sounds like a Canadian problem to me. We solved ours by turning to the railroads that can go anywhere and don't need special permission, or taking away lands from farmers. I read that the cost by rail is about the same as by pipeline and it puts people to work and creates jobs now. Canada would do well to send its oil east and west by rail. The article is correct, we in the USA don't need the tar sand oil as we have our own clean oil. It didn't save us a penny at the pump anyway!

The eco terrorists and eco nazis are trying to stop the pipelines but eventually they will fail and the economy will be the priority. This product will be sold and there is nothing the eco nazis can do to stop it.

Pipelines make a lot more sense than trucks and trains.

The pipe line may not help the USA if most of it is exported.

And when we have the pipelines where is that oil and fuel going to go, not the US or Canada, but to the highest bidder for the profits, leaving us with lower inventory and higher prices. We also do not know what tar sand production is going to do in the future to water and other natural resources, only time will tell.

If we won't build a pipeline to take their oil, the Canadians will sell it elsewhere. Another indicator of our stupid administration that is clearly marching to a different drummer.

this will be good for those building and supplying materials for the pipelines. unfortunately a large portion of this oil will go overseas.

And another option is concentration with extension of the pipeline from Alberta to Montreal and further east to New Brunswick where Canada's largest and underutilized refinery (Saint John)is located (deep water port, closer to much of Asia's oil hungry prospects than west coast ports). Eastern Canada seems to be already planning this approach, taking advantage of the "sputtering" States and Western Provinces.

If the US can become energy independent, that will counter China. They will still be exporting money for oil and we can be investing in our own industries. Advantage us. BUT: ONLY IF WE BECOME ENERGY INDEPENDENT.

If this is true, we will have more oil available. So, should not our prices drop? They should . but don't hold your breath becasue we have greedy oil compaies who are getting tax breaks from the American consumers and then they screw us by charging us higher prices for those gallons of product. This is rediculous!

what I'd like to see someday - having ALL of the companies that have their products made outside of the US, regardless of what they make, and have the gov't give them 1 year to return their munufacturing back into the States, if not - impound their money until they do. All the products are made by cheap and sweatshop labor and then then the companies jack up the prices once inside the states and the consumer gets fleeced with the high prices.
