wonder if they found something before the explosion. If so, will it be swept under the rug like BP, Exxon and other incidents?

Oklahoma Natural Gas workers investigated a leak for about an hour before explosion. When looking for a gas leak, you don't know where the leak is at, if the gas is dissipating or collecting in an area. If the gas is collecting and there is an ingnition source nearby, then watch out it's time to get out of Dodge! FAST! Always use a portable personal gas and oxygen meter to detect possible explosive gases in the work area and act accordingly. Natural Gas leaks can act like putting gasoline on briquets to start a BBQ. Thanks to the gas company workers that got the home owner out of the house without further injury or death. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII! - The Day After......

Well, it was a medium pressure gas line that caused the explosion. But you are right, all three were very fortunate.
I have seen a high pressure interstate line explosion once. Any of you, I think would be amazed at a description of what I saw. I had no realization that a line like that could cause the explosion I saw with my own eyes; and I really thought it was something much different than a gas line explosion. Fortunately it was in a very large field out in west Texas and I was more than 130 miles away when I saw it, Yes!

Strange, it takes exactly 15 per cent NG with air to do that, If the smell isn't enough before you light that cigerette, or the gas finds a pilot light.

I once saw gas workers looking for a leaking natural gas line while one of them was smoking. They were lucky they didn't blow themselves up!

For those talking about putting natural gas "bombs" in their garage, why not? As a firefighter I can say I've responded to at least 3 gasoline car fires in garages/car ports in 12 years but no natural gas or propane explosions/fires in a house yet. The statistics say your gasoline bomb that makes those huge movie set explosions should concern you more.

NG is only dangerous when it leaks.
Is there a "leak proof" container?
