AG seeks emergency order against Twin Cities wind energy company

Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal -- Minnesota's attorney general went to court Wednesday seeking an emergency order stopping a Twin Cities company from selling wind turbines to Minnesota farmers.

About 100 farmers have complained to the attorney general's office about Excelsior-based Renewable Energy SD (RESD), the Star Tribune reported.

Last month Attorney General Lori Swanson filed suit against RESD, alleging that it swindled hundreds of thousands of dollars from Minnesota farmers. She accused RESD and its owner, Shawn Dooling, 46, of failing to provide wind turbines or providing wind turbines that didn't work.

In January, the attorney general also noted that Dooling has spent more than $1 million over the past several years for luxury automobiles, including two Bentleys, a Lamborghini, a Ferrari and two Audis.
