25-34 - buying to impress others. probbly has enough income to do it without even thinking of how the extra cost will ever pay for it self in savings. When they line up trying to recharge they can watch the cars on gas drive by. Hy brid, electric not wanted by us.

No surprise when gasoline hits record highs. Nice that the Chevy Volt offers a choice of 'fuels' for the most frequent trips Americans take.

The statistics are just being interpreted as they want. If you sold 2 hybrids last month and then sold three this month, sales would be up 50%. The number sold compared to gas powered vehicles is miniscule.

That's not all you also paid about twenty to twenty five percent of the purchase price in the form of " tax intensives".

What good does it do if there is a great expense to get and keep the vehicle running (gas, electric, etc.) I'm all for alternative measures but it's all talk and little action.

I think the number is relative to the fear that we are running out of oil and prices of fuel were going to skyrocket.

People are more informed about these new technologies but I think the cost of gas will be a big factor in purchasing these vehicles.
