For IE, use Source on the View menu. For Chrome, it's just [Ctrl-U].

You know, there is a div tag right above the map and it has an ID parameter in it. That can be used for the same purpose as an fragment anchor tag.

OK, I got it. But assuming that's not going to happen (because they don't want you to hop past the ads), how about something that will tell the browser to scroll down so many lines? Perhaps a programmed key with the proper number of Down Arrows in it? It would be nice if you could put something in the URL, but GB would have to echo that back when it sent the page. Is there a "append-this-to-the-URL-when-the-page-is-sent" command to the server? Wouldn't that be nice.

Was your "named anchor" suggestion for the map made before or after the appearance of the current map link button that furnishes a center-of-the-map URL suitable for bookmarking?

Nope; simply had a very short time to come up with a screen name when I joined and it was the first thing I could think of after having seen mostly all other members' screen names being "gas" related; it wasn't the first one I could come up with, but the first that wasn't already taken.
